Charged for Free Shipping

I ordered two games utilizing the free 2 day shipping that was offered during checkout. The total came to $23 and some change. Later, u received the confirmation email for the order so I checked it to make sure everything looked right. However, when I checked the order, it stated the total had increased to $31 and I was being charged $7.98 for shipping even though I chose the options that clearly said free before and the total at that time had shown that. Why was I charged for shipping after I had already ordered the games with the free 2 day shipping option?

I'm pretty sure all Free 2 day shipping offers require total amount to exceed $35.

If that was the case, why would the free shipping option even appear? And why would it be reflected in my grand total as I was checking out just to change itself later? In fact, if I go to Best Buy's website right now, it's still giving me the option for free shipping on those same two games.

Welcome back to our forums! There are a few terms and conditions of our Shipping Costs & Timing that can sometimes cause confusion, but I’ll be happy to help clear things up for you.

 

Typically, we offer free 2-day shipping on qualifying items, of orders $35 and up, which would be displayed during check-out. I was able to recreate your order myself, and it looks like one of the games you ordered qualified for free 2-day shipping, and the other qualified for free standard shipping. Using the information you provided upon registering to our forums, it looks like you opted for the 2-day shipping on both games, which is why you were charged shipping on the order.
