Can't return, despite getting item 4 days late.

I was supposed to get my Switch on launch, but did not receive until the following Tuesday. I bought another Switch because I didn't want to wait and wanted to return the one to Best Buy; however, it's not letting me return, despite it not even being 15 days, which isn't very fair.

Hello Lanmanna,

 

There's nothing quite as thrilling as having an exciting new product arrive right on time on release day as I know well from my own experience. There's also nothing quite as disappointing if it doesn't happen. I was discouraged to hear that your new Switch arrived later than expected, not to mention that you encountered difficulties when you hoped to return it. I apologize for our having let you down.

 

Were you attempting to return your item in store or by mailing it back to our warehouse? What reason are you being given for not being able to return the product?

Thank you for getting back in touch. I wanted to return in store. I saw online that it shows that I couldn't return, so I didn't bother even going to a B&M store yet. I just planned on telling customer service that I already got a Switch.

My order slip just shows the order date (beginning of Feb), so I wasn't even sure how I would prove that I didn't get it until the 7th (aside from showing my tracking number).

As stated in our Return & Exchange Promise, your return period begins the day of your delivery and the product can be returned to any Best Buy store or our warehouse within 15 days (30 days for My Best Buy Elite members and 45 days for Elite Plus members) for an exchange or refund. This can be done online (instructions are offered via the link above) or by visiting your local store. With apologies, outside these time frames, Best Buy is unable to offer a refund or exchange.

I tried to return to a physical BB on the 20th, but they said it was already out of the return period, which isn't true. Smiley Sad
