Creating and Managing Your List

 

How do I create a shareable custom list?

 

To create a custom list, you need to sign in to your My Best Buy® account. If you don't have one, you can create an account for free, which also gives you access to My Best Buy member benefits.

Once you've signed in or created your account, there are a few ways to create your list.

 

From BestBuy.com:

 

From your Account Home page, select Saved Items from the light blue navigation bar, then select View Saved Items. From the Saved Items page, under Lists, select Create a New List, then add a title and save.

 

From Best Buy mobile app:

 

Open your Best Buy mobile app. If you do not have the app, text GETAPP to 332211* to download the Best Buy mobile app, or download it from your app store.

 

  • iOS

     From the More tab in the heading, select Registries & Gifts. Under the Create heading, select Wish List.

 

  • Android

     From the More tab in the heading, select My Wish Lists, then Create a New Wish List.

How do I add an item to my Saved Items list?

 

From BestBuy.com

 

Browse for the item you want to add. On the item's product detail page, click the Save for Later button.

 

 

How do I add an item to my custom lists?

 

From BestBuy.com:

 

Sign in to your account. On the Saved Items page, click the Add to List button underneath the saved item you want to add to your custom list.

 

From Best Buy mobile app:

 

Sign in to your account. Browse for items you want to add. Select the Add to Wish List button on an item's product detail page and then choose the list you would like to add the item to, or select Create a New List.

 

From Best Buy stores:

 

  1. Open your Best Buy mobile app. If you do not have the app, text GETAPPto 332211*to download the Best Buy mobile app, or download it from your app store.
  2. Sign in to your BestBuy.com account. Open your list from the More tab on iOS or Android, select Add Gifts, then select Start Scanning. 
  3. Scan the QU code on the price tag or bar code on the item's packaging to add an item to your list. If the item is eligible to be added to your list, you will be directed to the item's product details page. From there, select Add Gift to Wish List.

Please note that adding an item to a list does not hold or reserve the item, and the price of the item is subject to change. Some items are excluded from our List program, including devices or products that require a plan.

 

Can I create more than one list?

Yes, you can have up to 50 lists, each with up to 200 items. However, you can only have one wedding registry at a time.

 

How long will my list be available online?

To ensure your Saved Items list is saved, you will need to sign in or create a My Best Buy account. Within your account, your Saved Items and custom lists will be available until you delete them. Without an account, will be available for 30 days, or until you clear your Web browser's cookies.

 

How do I share my list?

Only custom lists can be shared. Within your list, select Share to choose from Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest or e-mail.

 

How do I view or edit an existing list?

Sign in to your account. On the Saved Items page, underneath Lists, select the custom list you want to view or edit. Within the list, you can remove items, edit quantities, add notes and more.

 

How do I modify my custom list information?

If you would like to update your settings or event details, select Settings in the upper-right corner of your list.

 

What is the List ID used for?

Your unique List ID helps guests more quickly locate your list. Searching for a list by name may return many results, but searching by List ID will bring you directly to your list.

 

What are the QR Codes used for?

When you, or those shopping for you, purchase list items in a store, sales associates will scan the QR code to link the purchase to your list. This process helps ensure you don't receive duplicate gifts by accurately reflecting which items from your list have been purchased. The QR codes associated with your list can be found by clicking your List ID link.

 

What happens if an item on my list is discontinued?

If an item on your list is discontinued or no longer available, the Add to Cart button will be replaced with a Sold Out button. The item will not be removed from your list automatically.

 

Can I delete a list?

Yes. You can delete a Custom List at any time within your list settings. Please remember that deleting a Custom List is permanent and you will not be able to access your list again, nor will it be searchable. Items you've added to your Saved Items list will remain until you remove them individually.

 

 

Keeping Track of Your Gifts

 

When someone purchases an item from my list, will the purchase be reflected on my list?

Yes, but the processes for online and in-store purchases differ slightly.

 

  • Online purchases: The item being purchased must be added to the cart from your list. Once the purchase has been made, your list will be automatically updated to reflect the purchase.
  • In-store purchases: A list QR code must be scanned by a sales associate to link the purchase to the list. It may take up to an hour for in-store purchases to be reflected on your list.

 

List Visibility

 

Can anyone see my list?

When you create your list, you are given the option to make your list searchable through Best Buy.

 

  • Selecting Yes: Your list will be searchable on our website, mobile app and in store kiosks.
  • Selecting No: Your list will be hidden from our search unless you provide guests with your List ID, but you will still be able to personally share your list.

You can change this setting in your list settings at any time.

 

 

Shipping & Returns

 

Will you show my shipping address to people purchasing from my list?

When people purchasing from your list select a shipping address during checkout, we will only show the city and state from the shipping address you provided.

 

How do you handle items that require scheduled delivery?

If you have items on your list that require scheduled delivery, people purchasing the item will not be able to schedule the delivery when they place their order. After they make their purchase, we will contact you within 48 hours by e-mail and phone to schedule delivery.

 

Can I return or exchange gifts I receive from my list?

Yes. You can return or exchange most list items up to 15 days after they were purchased.

For Gift Buyers

 

How do I find a list?

The easiest way to find a list is to search our website, mobile app or in-store kiosk using the first and last name of the list owner. Your search terms must be an exact match, so be sure you are entering the list owner's name correctly.

 

You may also search using the List ID provided by the list owner, which will bring you directly to their list.

 

Will my gift purchase be reflected on the list?

Yes, but the processes for online and in-store purchases differ slightly.

 

  • Online purchases: The item being purchased must be added to the cart from the list. Once the purchase has been made, the list will be automatically updated to reflect the purchase.
  • In-store purchases: When purchasing a gift in-store, have the sales associate scan the list QR code on the printout to link the purchase to the list. If you do not have the printout with you, you can find the list QR code in the list's List ID link from your mobile device. It may take up to an hour for in-store purchases to be reflected on the list.

Note: Linking your purchase to the list helps prevent receiving duplicate gifts.

 

Can list items be shipped directly to the person who created the list?

Yes, if the person who creates the list provides us with an address they would like their gifts sent to, you will be able to choose to send gifts directly to that address during checkout.

 

Can I include a gift message?

Yes. During the checkout process online, you will be asked if you want to include a gift message.

 

How do I purchase Geek Squad® Protection for my gift?

If a gift is eligible for a Geek Squad Protection Plan, you will be able select a protection plan for the gift in your cart when purchasing from BestBuy.com or a Best Buy store.

 

 

Will Best Buy gift wrap my product?

Gift packaging is a feature available only online. If your product is eligible, you will be offered gift packaging as an option in checkout. Some items cannot be gift packaged because of their shape or large size. For more information, see our Gift Packaging Frequently Asked Questions.
