I'll start by saying that the chat option, while showing open on the site, currently doesn't work. I've tried the phone, but every option to get to a person just sends me to the 'get your order status online, your call will now be disconnected' message. It's seriously ticking me off.
Anyway, my question is this. I preordered the Game of Thrones blu-ray when it was $55, and I applied $50 worth of gift cards to it, expecting to pay the difference. It later dropped to $45, so I called to see what their policy was. After being told that the representative was unable to alter anything in the existing order (likely because there was a preorder bonus item that I had already received), the rep got a supervisor who decided that once it shipped, they'd figure out the price difference and just refund it back to my credit card. Since that basically was only a 50 cent difference, I figured that would be fine.
The preorder price has now dropped to $35, which is quite a bit lower. I wanted to call and re-confirm that the previous policy still held, since it would be a much higher refund, and I'm not sure on standard policy of giving credit for gift cards is.
I will add that I am unable to cancel and reorder the item since I got the preorder bonus item, and additionally so because best buy gift cards take several days to have their balance restored even if they are refunded.
Please advise, thank you.

Hey Akari-
Thanks for posting and welcome to our forums!
Every little bit helps and I'd be seeking clarification to if I was in your situation. Excellent questions and as you were previously advised, you should have no problem receiving the price match refund. If for some reason you are unable to receive a price refund once you receive your item, feel free to contact me via private message (clicking the link beside my name) and I'd be happy to work with you.
I hope this helps set your mind at ease. ![]()
