crazy interest charge

We also had the HSBC Best Buy card, have made all of our monthly payments on time, including amounts over minimum payments. Today I went to pay my bill and saw I had been charged $1600 in interest !!!!! Please contact me!!!  I see bankruptcy in our future!

Ahhhh you most likely didn't pay off a promotional financing in the allotted time so all the retro interest kicks in :smileysad:. Did you try calling HSBC and explaining this? Hopefully one of the Community Connectors can help you out with this.

 

Friendly tip: Try to leave out an personal information in your posts. When the Community Connectors need that info, they will contact you via private message.

Yes I realized putting my number there was a mistake but realized it too late.  Unfortunately since I have statements online, I never look at the statements. I just log on monthly to make my payments. Ugh big mistake!

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us and I am very sorry for any misunderstanding over your financing agreement.

 

As it appears you are aware, HSBC is a separate company from us whereby they provide credit card services to our customers, and for security as well as privacy reasons, we do not have direct access to or influence over their records, policies or procedures.  However, while I cannot guarantee anything, I wanted to let you know that I am currently researching this matter further on your behalf and as soon as I have more information I will follow up with you again by private message.  So, please keep your eyes open for a “new message” alert in the upper right-hand corner of the page to follow shortly (when signed in).
