My husband and I submitted an order for the laptop below. We placed the order on 9/16/10. When the order was placed, the expected delivery date was between 9/21-9/25, which was perfect (as this is a gift for our son's 18th birthday on 9/28) and part of the reason we placed the order with Best Buy.
However, the order sat in "order being fulfilled" status for 4-5 days and was ultimately shipped on 9/23. Needless to say, it is not going to be here on his birthday. When I called to find out why it was taking so long to get "fulfilled," I could get no information, even thought I am the "ship to" person and my husband is the "bill to."
This is very disappointing and my son will be unwrapping a printout of his new laptop. Best Buy needs to better clarify their time estimates for shipping and be better about communicating with the customer. If the order is not going to be shipped until after the date estimated when the order is placed or is delayed for some reason, daily e-mails should be sent.
Most likely will not shop at bestbuy.com again.

As a mother of three, I know how momentous a birthday can be for my daughters as well as the excitement I receive from finding the perfect gift. I can only imagine how disappointed I would be to have shopped early (as you did) and experience the type of delay you have described. I would like to offer my sincerest of apologies for this inconvenience.
I was able to pull up your order using the email you used upon registration on our Forum. From what I can see, the package arrive in Anchorage early this morning and has a delivery date of 10/1/10 (estimated). I am not quite sure why it takes so long to get from Anchorage to your home however you might see the package earlier. Fingers crossed!
Ultimately, we have let you down and that just does not sit right with me. Along with my apologies, I would like to speak further with you about this issue, and to begin the conversation I am sending you a private message. On a related note, Happy Birthday to your son! My oldest will be 17 this year, and it seems like she was just born yesterday and I would imagine you maybe feel the same way.
