I work as a Best Buy/Geek Squad Home Theater agent in a call center, and when I'm assist customers i have to call the local best buy store every once in a while.
I wanted to see if there was anything that the moderators could do, maybe put in a ticket to the website administrators that they add the ability to search for the store by using the stores number, rather than the local zip code. Then maybe show the closest ones to that best buy. I just figure that since our system give us the store number on pretty much every order, it would make it a little simpler for me to look up a best buys phone number, as some of the stores that they go to, aren't actually the closest stores.

I agree. Sometimes the store # is the only info I get out of a client and finding out what location that # belongs to is nearly impossible, even using Google.

Actually, I can help! Just type this into your address bar: http://stores.bestbuy.com/####, where #### is the three or four digit store number. If you wanted to look up store 1435, it would be http://stores.bestbuy.com/1435, store 238 would be http://stores.bestbuy.com/238. I don't know about showing the closest stores to that one. You'd still have to use the store locator and go by the zip code that your target store is in.

Um, for some reason it didn't show the full web addresses.
Store 1435 would be http://stores.bestbuy.com/1435
Store 238 would be http://stores.bestbuy.com/238

That's cool! Thanks for pointing that out. It would still be nice to be able to search from the main page like one would using a zip code, but at least it's a start.

Ah, thanks for showing us that Nokia, i didn't think about being able to do that, but i still think it would be a good addition to the store locator to be able to search of the store number just as the zip code. But until they accept my ideas thats definitely a good alternative.

There is a solution specifically for employees, not sure if you guys have access to it. I can't remember it off the top of my head.
I think it's not on BB.com because more people refer to the store by its area rather than its number. As in the street that it's on, or the plaza that it's in. Really only employees use store numbers. I couldn't begin to tell you what Target I shop at!

Haha, yeah i know what you are saying, but sometimes a customer will purchase from a store in a different state or city, and that isnt the closest best buy to their zip code, and we have the store number because our system tells us. Also with OMS orders if you need to call the local store, it might not be the closest one to them. See where im coming from?

Couldn't you just use the normal locator then, and search using their zip code?
