On August 28th I purchased this TV online with a delivery date of 9-9-09. Got a call from my local store that the tv did not ship and my order will be canceled but I can come in and they will try to find me something else.
I have heard about this a lot on the internet but I thought it was just misunderstanding customers, now I know different! This is a bait & switch scam for sure!
We did go in and after a total runaround an employee said they would try to order it direct from the store and they would call us that night about the status. No call for two days!
Husband called and spoke to three more people and was given a case # {removed per forum guidelines} for our order # BBY01-{removed per forum guidelines}. One person said they tried to call the warehouse but the phone # was disconnected. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!?
Husband talked to same person as when we went into the store and they said the tv should be in their store 9/15/09. It better be there or I am going in and telling everyone about this HORRIBLE SERVICE!
To make matter's worse I actually got a bill to pay for a TV that we don't have! If my order was canceled then why am I being billed?! Funny how the bill had no trouble finding it's way to my house.

Hey there and welcome to the community! I apologize for the miscommunication. Did they order the same Samsung 58" TV for you?
By the way, this is no where close to what Bait and Switch actually means.

It is a bait and switch attempt. They offered to product when no product existed then try to get you into the store to buy a more expensive product. That is just what happened but we're not buying it. We want the tv that we ordered. The tv that is still on your site as available.
Have no idea what they have done. Last Friday they said the warehouse phone was disconnected. I'm going to the store today to see what the is going on.

And another day without results. No TV, no idea if TV exists, might exist on Friday but no one knows. What they DO know is that my payment is due on the 29th.
This is an outrage!!! Your company is HORRIBLE! Your service is HORRIBLE! Friday I am taking off work and going to protest this store with a huge sign telling people not to shop there!

They offered to get you a different TV if this one is unavailable. I am sure the store will cancel the order and refund your money.

Exactly! For a much higher price! That's the very definition of bait and switch. In the mean time we just keep going around and around. Maybe the tv is there, maybe it isn't. Maybe the warehouse phone is disconnected again. Who know what other excuses will come out tomorrow. In an age of smart tags for tracking inventory I have a very hard time understanding how your company cannot know if they have something in stock or not. My guess is that it is no mistake, it's intentional.
In the mean time we're getting billed and I paid $200.00 on a gift card.
