Mcb0135,
Just as a point of record for this forum, I'd like to point out the coverage of the Black Tie Protection plan. Specifically, the ADH (Accidental Damage from Handling) coverage included in the plan. The plan should never be sold as "insurance" or as a plan that covers absolutely everything. If the store sold it in this way, they were in the wrong and it needs to be addressed with their leadership.
ADH(Accidental Damage from Handling)
ADH Coverage will provide coverage for parts and labor costs to repair your product as a result of damage to your product that is the result of an unexpected and unintentional external event (drops and spills) that arise from your normal daily usage of the product as the manufacturer intended. Secondary damage or using the product in a manner the manufacturer did not intend is not covered.
For more information on the coverage included in the plan, please read the terms and conditions located here. If you have additional feedback you'd like me to share with the store's leadership, please feel free to send me a private message with this information.
From what you described of the phone and the damage it sustained, it sounds like something we would normally cover. I'm confused as to why it was denied. Without being there and seeing the phone for myself I can only comment on what we cover in accordance with the plan's terms and conditions.
