On 30 May 2011, I purchased an iPod Touch 4G from my local Best Buy retailer; unfortunately, the touch-screen was completely unresponsive and I proceeded to exchange it the next day for another iPod. Today, 10 June 2011, a faint, horizontal white line has appeard in the middle of the display. Since this is the second time that I have had an issue, I simply want to return the iPod for a cash refund.
Can I return an exchanged item in for a cash refund, or will I encounter problems at the return center? There are no cracks on the screen or otherwise apparent signs of damage that would indicate that I am responsible for the hardware error, and I still have all of the original packaging and accessories.
Thanks in advance for any knowledgable member or moderator that takes the time to answer my question.

I also tried resetting the iPod to factory settings through the iTunes restore function, but that failed to fix the white line.

You're still within the return policy, so unless there is a visible damage, there shouldn't be any problems.
