I have a mystery charge on my bank account from Best buy for $7.96 (might be .95 or .98, not sure).
I have no Best buy Credit card, only a Reward Zone membership. I routinely buy service contracts on major purchases which is always paid in full at the time of purchase. I know of nothing I have agreed to that requires a monthly fee.
SO, what the heck is this monthly charge for from Best Buy on my bank statement????

Hi!
Do you happen to have an extended warranty on a wireless phone? That's one of the things that may have a monthly charge. Let me know - we'll work to find out more information for you.
Thanks,

Whatever the charge is, we are changing banks and closing the account thats getting hit. The only way Best Buy could have gotten that account was from 'stealing' the number after we used the bank card to pay for a purchase. We have never signed an agreement or electronically agreed to any monthly charges from Best buy. Perhaps some over zealous cashier did a checkbox somewhere on his monitor during a purchase.
I think I should report this to a government consumer agency and see how much longer Best Buy hits unsuspecting customers with this monthly charge. Thats a significant income for Best Buy if thousands of customers don't stop it or even notice it.
YeeHAAAA for Best Buy. I spend way too much with them to toyed with this way. GRRRRRRRRRR

I would definitely close that account if you're unable to determine the source of the charge. I don't think it'd be a cell phone service plan, because that wouldn't come out to near $8. It would be closer to $7.50, even with a high tax rate.
@whydidibuy - BB does not charge these amounts on purpose. Please do not imply that we do.

If you question this or any other charge on your bank account, we recommend you dispute that charge with your bank for further investigation.
I'm sorry for any frustration or inconvenience,
