It's too bad they pend the charge, since it's well over a month from time I ordered until it will ship.  Perhaps a month or two or three in this case.  It shows against my credit card balance, raising it up for the time until I receive the product.

I ordered a NEST about three weeks ago.  I keep seeing a PENDING charge for my credit card for the Nest, it's now dated 11-18.  Is my NEST about to ship?  I would be disappointed if Best Buy was putting pending charges for the NEST if not shipping it immediately.

They pend the charge until the item ships. This isn't an indication of shipping.

Thanks for posting this, and given how awesome this thermostat looks I can certainly understand you wanting to know when you can expect yours. As I stated in my response to your private message on this if you placed a pre-order between 10/25 and 10/27 yours should ship by 11/30/2011; if you placed your pre-order 10/28 and 11/5 your unit should ship by 12/20/2011. For all pre-orders placed after 11/5/2011 the estimated date of availability is 12/27/2011.

The pending charge would be required for your pre-order in order to reserve one of these units for you.

I'm certainly aware of what you sent me via private message.

But I am not used to having charges placed against my VISA a month or more ahead of when an item ships.  For instance I ordered two tablets from Amazon which also are not yet available.  However, Amazon has not yet placed any charges against my credit card.

Thanks again for writing.  I'm looking forward to my Nest.
