I had ordered for a set of Bose QC 15 headphones and the item was supposedly shipped to me with Order Number: {removed per forum guidelines} on 12th of March, 2012. The package arrived to me with nothing inside it! Yes the box was totally empty!! I was shocked/disappointed and got in toucg with Best Buy right away. They said they ahve to onvestigate the issue and it would take 3-5 days for the investigation. I waited, called back today i.e. 16th of March, 2012. The customer rep was surprised that there was actually no action taken for the last few days? This is so disapponting. Here I am with my money taken from my bank account, but without a set of Bose headphones. She was nice enough to actually send in an action item to the "loss department" so some action could actually be taken. This is indeed very frustrating, My money has been taken by Best Buy and they cant ship me another replacement (I dont want one) nor can they give me my money back until they "Investigate" the issue. This is really unfair. The customer should not have to suffer for no fault of his. I hope this issue is resolved asap.

First, I'll say that you might have better luck starting a new thread instead of piggybacking on an old issue.
Second, you can check the weight of the package on the tracking number and see if the weight makes sense (i.e., to ensure the box wasn't shipped empty). This should help pinpoint the problem and show if it happened before or during shipping.
Next, they have to investigate the issue. They can't just take your word. If they did, every box from UPS/USPS/Fedex/DHL would 'arrive empty'. People would take so much advantage of this if they could.
It's unfortunate that you have to go through this, but they want to make sure that it's handled properly. Without knowing the responsible party, it's not really fair for Best Buy to suffer, either. It could have been taken when the carrier had it. It could have been a neighbor grabbing the package, emptying it, and re-taping it..
I do wish you the best of luck in getting this sorted out ASAP. I'd also suggest finding a better location to recieve packages at, such as having them sent to your work, or a neighbor that you trust, etc. There are a lot of unscrupulous people around and it's not worth the risk.
Sometimes you gotta just chock it up as bad luck, and deal with the annoyance while it gets straightened out. C'est la vie.

If you purchased the product with a credit card you can dispute the charges with them as well. Either way you should have reported the issue with them as well as Best Buy. As far as the other poster comment "they can't just take your word for it" I take issue with that. It's not that they can't is that they won't. There are other companies that do take the word of the customer in similar situations. NetFlix and Blockbuster for example. They are both still in business so I don't think there are a flood of scamers out there just saying they didn't get their product.

Easy to fix the "they can't take your word for it" File a police report-Lying on a police report is a crime, but most thiefs wont do this or at least wont do it often??? Most police dept allow you to file over phone or via internet. File, then provide it to BB and or your CC company. At least then BB can have a better feeling that you too are concerned about their loss(and maybe they can claim this via some insurance policy as well.)

Hello UdayT-
Welcome to the forums!
I can imagine your disappointment when you opened your package only to find that it was empty and I am sorry that you have to deal with this. In the event a customer reports something missing from their order we partner with the delivery company to investigate this before taking action. This investigation can take up to 10 business days before a resolution can be provided.
I was able to locate your open cases with our research team and I see that this is currently in process and that someone should be reaching out to you shortly regarding this. I encourage you to continue working with the research team as they are going to be the best team to resolve this for you.
I hope you have a great day!
Respectfully,
