I don't want to sound like a complaining customer, but i've been seeing this message for quite some time.
I was getting kind of scared about ordering online at best buy because of recent complaints, and shipping problems, but the prices were actually the best compared to other places, and i decided to just order it. I did some research and stuff about when my product will arrive, and i watched the video where the man explained to us about the whole shipping process, but he said that each time your order goes to the next stage, they will email you, but so far i've been seeing the "0-1 days; Order in process of being fulfilled" for about like 3 or 4 days.. maybe if they didn't mean it is coming in 0-1 days, maybe you should change it to 3-5 days or something. I check my email everyday awaiting my order, and i get absolutely no emails whatsoever..
and another thing is, i looked up the i touch 4th generation 8gb in white on the website, and i checked to see the availability at the store that was closest to me, and they said it was available, so i drove over there right away, and they tell me its all out of stock. Then i go home, and check the website again, and it still said that it was available.
Oh the irony. A top selling electronics store cannot update their website correctly.

Yes, their inventory system certainly leaves a lot to be desired. Several months ago, I was told that a limited edition movie was in stock at one local store by another location. I called that store, they said that, while the inventory system said they had 2 in stock, they'd been looking for them all day and didn't have them, but they expected the inventory system to update after closing. The next morning, the web site still said it was in stock. I called them, and they said they'd hold one for me. As I was preparing to walk out the door to get it, they called back and said they didn't have it. The web site said that it was in stock for the rest of that weekend.

Basically what happens if an item shows in stock in the inventory but can't be physically located, they will continue looking for it and when they decide that it is either stolen or missing, they research what could have occurred, then take it out of inventory if necessary. BB.com will show it in stock throughout the process until they take it out of inventory. It can take up to 2 hours for the inventory to update so if customers are in the process of buying an item, it can show in stock for a bit on bb.com. As far as shipping, sometimes processing can take longer if an item has to be obtained from the manufacturer, or if it is in transit from the manufacturer or something.
So, to summarize:
BB's inventory system is woefully unreliable, particularly the customer-facing inventory system on the web site.
Which is what we said.
