Hello, I just need someone to issue me a new gift card ASAP. Here is what happened: Yesterday (3/15/12) I was online ordering some video games and controllers. I went to check out, and enetered my gift card # and pin# and it took off the balance, which the remaining balance was like 8.95 after I entered my $200 gift card. So I wa slike oh good it went in properly, and then my computer froze and refreshed itself and the screen was back to as if I hadn't completed my order SO I eneter the gift card and it was 0$ balance this card has been used already!! Well I have called customer care and spoke with them 45 minutes yesterday and 1 hour today. I was given a case # but everyone keeps telling me it will be resolved by Wednesday. I want this resolved NOW because this was a birthday gift for me and 200$ is a lot of money which my father spent on this gift card in a Best Buy store in Ohio and mailed it to me. I have to receipt for that transaction with the validation # on it and everything proving he bought the gift card. I was told that the gift card department needs to review my case and issue me a new gift card, so ok I get that but why can't they handle this now for me while I am on the phone? Everyone I've talked to on the phone sees that I have never been given an order # because they have looked it up under my name, phone #, credit card, gift card and there is no order history. On my bak account statement it shows BestBuy-Visa $8.95 pending item, but has not gone though. I was told by a representative at Best Buy that this is a "ghost order" it is lost in cyberspace somewhere and took my $200 gift card with it!!! So just please someone just give me a gift card so I can complete my order (I will do it over the phone next time!!!). Is there a "gift card department"? If so they are whom I need to speak to resolve this, however conveniently they were not in today this monring when I called.

I just got the playstation and eye camera and really looking forward to using that gift card towards games and controllers for my birthday gift from my father. Thanks for reaching out to the gift card team. Please let me know ASAP if they are able to give me a new gift card so I can complete my order.

Thank you SO much! They did refund my gift card. The only complaint I have now is just that last week they had a special on buy 3 pre-owned games, get one free and this week the special is no longer available =( But it's ok. I will go into an actual Best Buy store and select some items. I'm done with online orders lol. But the customer service turn around time was a lot lower than I expected, so hi 5! Thanks!

Sounds like just what happened to me......bought a e gift card and put in my credit card number and it came back and said the order didnt go through, so i re filled out the credit card info and again it said the order didnt go through and so I tried a different credit card and once again you guessed it, said something was wrong and the order didnt go through. So I checked my credit card accounts and guess what theyre being processed.....two times on one card and one time on another, each for $300 so a total of $900. After seeing all the ghost orders here online I am guessing Best Buy is in so much financial stress that they must need to do this many times per day....after all if it is 3-5 days to repay the credit card or reissue the money it basically is a short term loan with zero interest, basically a ponzi scheme if you ask me. I have seen issues with them as far back as 2010 of the same exact stuff, and you wonder why Best Buy is shutting down stores like crazy?????? Show a little problem solving skills and fix the problem Best Buy, this is pathetic!!!!!!!

As I explained in this other thread, Best Buy does not collect funds until your order has been fulfilled. We may, however, place a hold on funds equal to the order total whenever you place an order on BestBuy.com. If an order is cancelled for any reason - or if an order cannot be completed - it's then the responsiblity of the paying card's issuing bank to remove any expired holds from the customer's account. For additional information I'd encourage you to check out the link I've provided below and to contact the customer service hotline listed on the back of your card.

They dod issue me a new gift card via postal mail, and it was a week later. It did take me a whole week of calling and coming on here complaining, but I was happy when it was finally resolved. I got my gift card and went to a physical Best Buy store to use it but was very disappointed in the selection of games there, some games I wanted were only available online and the week I attempted to use my gift card there was a sale buy 3 pre-owned games get 1 free, and they did not honor this special in the store =( very disappointed no longer buy online from Best Buy or in the store for that matter. Best Buy is way out of the way for me which is another reason I ordered online. My advice: ince you get your new gift card code in the mail just go to a best buy or sell it on ebay for cash!
