OK Best Buy, fess up!

I pre-ordered two copies of 7 on June 26th, yet I don't have any shiny new boxes in my hands.  You advertised "free shipping" with the promotion, I was charged $7.95, yet I STILL don't have the OS!

What's the deal?  Did the preorder logistics get all messed up, or did you not plan on coming through on your promise?  There are quite a few angry customers you deserve an answer to!  And yes, I did see the generic response you posted, which seems to be geared more towards people who ordered PC's not just an OS.

Is this what we should expect from your preorder programs in the future?  I've always been an early adopter, and preorder everything.  If this is how you treat your loyal customers, the ones that preordered with you based on your CUSTOMER SERVICE record, I will not be ordering with you again.

Best regards,

  Craig, and many others.

Re: OK Best Buy, fess up!

Sorry you got charged, but mine shipped free and I still havent gotten it.  I order several month ago for 7 too, and...apparently best buy used some cut rate crap shipping company ive never heard of called mail express.biz which aited a day to even move it, moved it somewhere, then waited another day before handing it off to USPS.

BEST BUY... use USPS all along, if Id known you were going to screw me with crap shipping, I would have bought it somewhere else.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

Still waiting on 7, no excuse for best buy, none.

Never preordering anything from them again.

Re: OK Best Buy, fess up!

SO, let me get this straight, due to restrictions from MS, you couldn't ship this till the21st.. .SO why did they restrict just Best Buy>? I ordered 3 copies.. 1 from Best Buy since I had a gift card to use up, and 2 from a memebership warehouse..... Lets's see.. a huge membership warehouse who has the letters cost and co in it,  managed to ship theirs out in enough time to arrive ON the release day.. just as any retailer should have planned for.  I tend to agree with the majority of posts here, BB screwed up terribly, big time; there isn't any excuse for this.. Oh wait, yes there is.. perhaps they feel since they are one of the few ...brick and mortar stores left, since the red retailer otherwise known as a circuit and city  is gone,..they don't have to give a hoot about what customers think.. naaaaaaaaa..that cant' be it.  ANyway.. After orderign all three, I find out that our child in college qualifies for the educational pricing of 29.99, so BAM.. we hopped on that, and will be RETURNING this copy to Best Buy.. if and when it ever arrives... as obviously, its now the 23rd  and still not here.  Maybe, someone higher up should take a bold step.. and offer some sort of We're Sorry, to those who pre ordered, in the form of a discount coupon or something... just show us you give a hoot.. That's all we ask. Don't feed us something about policy with MS, etc.. obviously other retailers managed to ship there preorders out ON TIME.. ... And no, there won't be any more 'preordering' from this company on any scale...

Re: OK Best Buy, fess up!

Its now the 24th and this items point of shipment was only a day (usually) away via a 42 cent postage stamp. Tracking shows today may not even happen either. This whole preorder is sickening to be treated so poorly. Its a case of, we have your money and lets focus on new orders instead of servicing existing customers. Ive bought 4 laptops, an ipod touch, and SOOOO much more from them in the past 2 years alone, this preorder has sickened me so much that my usual request for birthdays\christmas is BB gift cards, I can tell you thats the furthest thing I will ask for unless they find away to fix their wrongs, Ill just order everything from "the egg".

Re: OK Best Buy, fess up!

Craig,

Thanks for the post.  I have taken care of the shipping costs associated with your order that should not have been charged.  You should see the $7.98 credit appear within 72 hours on your credit card.

The “generic” message I posted was specifically about the software orders.  Again, the only way to receive the product on release day was to choose express shipping which is sent via UPS Next Day Air Saver.
