So I did a store pickup for a netbook on Dec 2nd. 6 hours later I received an email telling me it was out of stock. I was a little upset since good old ***** **** never took more then 45 minutes to get back to you, but I can live with that. A few days later I received an email that said BestBuy.com would offer me a different netbook for the same price I was getting the other one for. It was a great deal so I called them and placed the order on DEC 6th and had it shipped because I was out of state for business. On December 8th I called and asked if I could change it to a store pickup because my other laptop died and I needed the new one for work. I was told it was already in processing so they couldn't cancel the order but I should receive it within the week. I was once again a little upset but nothing I couldn't deal with, especially since I got such a great deal. Now On December 15th It showed the item still in processing so I sent an email... well still have not had a reply to that. So on December 17th I called customer service. The lady told me it didn't ship because UPS couldn't read the label or something like that. I asked if we could cancel it and switch to in store pickup but she told me she could not transfer the same price. I looked up the netbook and it is $100 more now. I asked if I could have expedited shipping and she said she could not change the order but said it was packaged and ready to go out the door so I should receive it in a few days.
Well just checked and my order has still not been picked up from UPS and today is 21st! So far we are at 16 days on shipping! Awesome! I ordered something from ******* on Monday and received it thursday so I guess they want my business more? Just shocked at BestBuy. I order tons of stuff online and have never had this much trouble! Heck they made me so mad I registered on this forum just to vent!

I, just like you, registered to vent-period- and hopefully warn people not to waste time with best buy anything-store or online- as you will go through a lot of agony to get what you ordered- and getting them to properly correct their error of shipping the wrong item. Funny- you did a store pick up from an online purchase- these same idiots will tell you(except for 1st customer service rep who told me I could exchange the wrong item shipped at my local store-apparently no one told the store-and now all reps/Consumer relations people claim they are 2 separate entities and they can't do that. Now how can you do a store pick up from an online purchase-yet not do an even exchange when bestbuy.com sends you the wrong product?
They make no sense what so ever. NEVER AGAIN-BEST BUY as they definitely not the best buy around- they just know how to give empty promises and waste a lot of your time sitting on hold-waiting for someone with a brain and authority to properly correct problem.
I'm passing the word on to pass on Best Buy after my experience.

All I can say is that their next day shipping leaves a bit to be desired. I ordered a rush for a router on 12-15 and was to be here no later than the 17th. It arrived to my business on 12-21 in a box that was crushed by a truck it looked like with NO packing. A warehouseman took the product off the shelf and placed in a oversized box and off they sent it. Funny part to this was it came from Ohio, then two hops in California and then the rest of the way to Alaska. To me that is some trip for a next day Express. Needless to say no way am I going to use the router on my Alienware ALX Network of get this 6 of all new PC's. Anyone taken bets that the replacement will be here by Christmas so that I can work my deadline as my Christmas??

Lots of Luck seeing that by Christmas- Wow- I know things happen but never have I seen such a complicated mess of so many different things- wonder who or if anyone is really running the show up there. Hope you don't have to spend the endless hours like so many of us have, trying to get this settled properly. Best wishes!

So I tried to call today...
on hold for 47 minutes until CS picked up
I was told there was a trouble ticket thing and she would transfer me to customer resolutions? The lady I talked to sounded like it was her first day.
I was transfered only to be put into a black hole that kept saying please enter your transfer number over and over agian. After trying tons of different numbers 116 got me to a sales rep. The sales rep was very friendly and couldn't believe the issues I was having, she tried to transfer me back to CS but after 20 minutes I just hung up....I had been on my cellphone for over an hour and battery was about to go dead!
Going to try to call again in a minute since I am back home and have a charger now

So finally I talked with Tenia.... The first rep that didn't seem totally clueless. After being on hold for 30 minutes she switched the order over to store pickup for in in 3 minutes!! Not sure why the first 3 reps I talked to over the course of this headache couldn't do the same thing when she took care of it no problem!
I am still ticked off but at leaste I will have my netbook this afternoon so I will finally be done with this headache.....well I hope anyway, I am still waiting for a confirmation email from the store so it will probably come back item unavailable..hahaha If it does I am cancelling order and will just pay $70 more to get it from another store at this point.

My problem never had an issue with the Reps. I seem to be lucky on that end. It has been the warehousemen and UPS. I just recieved my replacement notice for the router now if it can at least make it to my state in one piece I will be problem free (cough, cough) LOL..

So I am typing this on my netbook so there was a happy ending but what a headache.... never doing that again. So I had an email at 12:45 saying my order was ready to pickup. Headed over to BB at 1:30 and guess what... it was not ready they could not find it. So as a final stick it to me act it took over an hour to get out of the store with my store pickup........but now I am done so good luck to everyone else on here

I'm glad your issue worked out. I'm still a bit puzzled by the inconsistent ways bestbuy does things. Some people can order online and pickup at the store- even though I had numerous CS and CR people say that can't happen- as they are two different entities. And I get sent a wrong Item- and take it back to the local store for an even exchange and it turns into a very complicated mess. Interesting.
