So I just ordered a bunch of movies online. One of them was a shrek the whole story box set. I didn't realize it was a blu ray set until I opened the wrapping.

If I can bring in my receipt to a local bestbuy, can I return the movies and get the regular DVDs, as I do not have a blu ray player

Unfortunately you would not be able to return or exchange open media for anything except for the exact same set. You could speak with the store and see if they are willing to work with you but they probably won't be able to do anything.

Okay. Then which is more expensive? A blu ray DVD player, or a blu ray drive for my laptop? And what are the prices?

External blu ray drives for laptops are 169.99 and the cheapest blu ray player for a television that is not refurbished on bb.com is 99.99. The cheapest is a refurb and is 74.99.

Okay. And just so I have an idea...what are the internal requirements for my comp to have the blu ray drive run efficiently?

1gb of ram and a dual core processor is all it really lists. Those are just recommended though, and it would still run ok on less.
