Please note that after a hundred or so attempts to get the site to accept the "magic code", it finally worked, and I got the authorization I needed to download the songs. I must humbly admit, that I must have been entering an incorrect sequence of numbers all along. My apologies to Sony and BestBuy - it may well have been user error. If I could delete all the previous posts on the subject, I would.
I kept the Altus, and am relatively satisfied with its performance. Don't expect much help from Sony tech support in getting it set up if you run into any problems, though.
