Kobo-Refurbished eReader Touch

I ordered a Kobo-Refurbished eReader Touch about 2 weeks ago, Jan. 25, item RF-N905-KBO-B.

 

Since that time my order status has gone from "being fulfilled," to "backordered," to "being fulfilled" again, and now to "backordered' again. Also during that time, the item itself was listed on bestbuy.com as "available to order," to "sold out online," to "available to order," to (now) no longer listed on the website. This makes me think that my order was somehow "passed over," as it were -- like my order just never shipped, and my reserved item was sold to someone else.

 

Furthermore, the same item was recently available (but in a different color) -- I was not contacted to check if this would be a suitable replacement (it would have been just fine -- I just want my product). That item, too, has now moved from "available" to "sold out" to (now) no longer listed.

 

Can anyone advise me on what's really going on, and if I'll ever have the product -- or if I should just "cancel" the backorder and get the reserve price off my credit card statement?

Thanks for all of your patience while we work to fulfill your order.  I got your private message and the order number did help me take a look, but I don’t have a definitive answer for you.  At this point, this is an active item in our system, so we will continue to try and get one to you, but I can’t make any promises.

 

If you’re willing to keep waiting, that’s great! But if you’d rather cancel and take a look at other options, you’re always welcome to do that during the backorder too.  Feel free to let me know here or by private message if you need any help.

Any word on this? It's been a month now.

 

I was assured over the phone that my product "will definitely be delivered."

 

I also still don't understand the changing status as noted in my original post.
