I received a "thanks for your order email" on 3/21 for a Convection Oven that I did not buy. The email states the purchase was made in store at the Hoover, AL location and that my order was in process of being fulfilled. The email has my account name and address that I use online.
I think to myself surely this must just be some mistake and I'll get it all cleared up.
Not even close..
I called Best Buy.com on 3/22 (when I actually read the email) and was told that the order was indeed placed in the store and I needed to call the store. I waited until 10 minutes after the Hoover store opened (10 AM) and called. I spoke with a young lady that confirmed the order was placed in the store and the name on the credit card matches. I told her this wasn't possible since the card was with me and hadn't left me. I need to find out about this order. She puts me on hold and then takes my information and tells me that her supervisor is going to research it and call me back.
During this time we also call the credit card company and make sure there isn't a hold or anything on the card and they say there is nothing from Best Buy. I also do not have a record of the order on my online account but I'm not sure if an in-store purchase will show up there.
I have no clue what is going on and only Best Buy can help me get this sorted out or at least put my mind at ease..
At 4 PM, I call back and ask if there is any update. The associate on the phone puts me on hold to check with the manager. I am told the manager is still researching my order. I tell them I am about to leave work and leave my cell number with him.
At 8:30 PM I call back and let the phone ring over 6 minutes. I hang up and call back again and let the phone ring over 6 minutes with no answer. I give up for the night.
Next day, 10 AM I call and speak to another person and I give them all of my information for the 3rd time. All I want is to find out what the heck is going on! Is there actually an order? Is it a mistake? Will I be billed the day someone tries to pick this up? What? Just give me some type of idea!
I call back at 5 PM. Give them my information yet again..
During this time I have to keep calling the credit company every day to make sure nothing is showing up on the card. I go ahead and cancel it since I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS GOING ON. Now, I get to wait 10 days to get a new card.
I give up and don't call during the weekend..trying to be respectful and not be overly annoying since I have to keep calling back.
3/26 (4 days after this started!) still no phone call, not even a courtesy "hey lady, we are still trying to help you and haven't forgotten about you" phone call. And when I call there is no information and I am put off yet again.
3/27 I just got an email that my order is awaiting my pickup! WHAT?! Seriously??!
I really just don't even know what to say. I can't call the police to file a fraudulent report until something shows up on my credit card, but why should I have to wait until that happens? Why can't Best Buy (HOOVER, ALABAMA) location just call me back? Why couldn't I have canceled it?
I truly don't know what to say.
