I was scheduled for a bill payment tonight by 8 and severely misjudged my time tonight and couldn't get home to make the payment by 8... Is there some way to avoid the late payment fee and stuff like that?

Credit Card companies will sometimes work with long time customers and big spenders and help them out once or twice.
If you are a new HSBC customer they may not let you slide.

I apologize for the delay in responding to your post. I know how it can be when time slips away from you and before you know it, you miss something you planned to do. I am sorry to see that this happened with the recent payment you needed to make on your credit card account.
As our Best Buy credit cards are issued through HSBC, it would be up to them to determine if any late fees can be waived for the payment. I wasn’t sure if you had contacted them at the suggestion of Mbrguy, but I did reach out to our contacts there on your behalf to see if they may be able to provide any options, just in case.
