I purchased 3 $25 Amazon Kindle gift cards from the Best Buy near my house and gave them to my sister for her birthday. When she tried to use them online she was told they had not been activated. Unfortunately I did not save the receipt (does anybody with gift cards?) and I paid cash. Nonetheless, I called the store where I purchased them and provided the date (2/21/2012) and approximate time they were purchased (my wife even remembered which cash register we used). The customer service representative suggested we bring the cards in so I retrieved the cards and brought them in to the customer service desk. The manager searched the system for a cash purchase in the amount of $75 and could not find anything. Another manager attempted a "manual over ride" to replace our cards but said the system wouldn’t allow it. I think the individuals in the customer service department were genuinely interested in resolving the issue and made a good effort to do so but they could not. I am hoping someone here has the authority to take care of this. We are long time customers of Best Buy and appreciate the security of knowing our purchases are covered in the event a product fails or a mistake is made through no fault of our own.

WOW!!! The doubble wammy (No receipt, paid cash). Guess youve learned that you did both things wrong here. Always get a gift receipt and include it with your gift and never use cash for gift cards. No way to track the purchase and no way to dispute it. Lesson learned

I had trouble with a BB Amazon Kindle coupon that could not be resolved in the store and Ryan went above and beyond to resolve the issue. Thank you Ryan. I look forward to future business with Best Buy.
