The store will just refer you to 1-800-BESTBUY.

Re: False Advertising-Bait and Switch-Fraud

Uh, no? The store has no power over dotcom, and dotcom would not refer someone to the store for a dotcom issue.

Chrystal

It seems like you have been trained well to deny, deny, deny even though it is unlawful. It almost seems like it is corporate policy, or as if there are internal memos instructing you how to do it. What amazes me is that best buy continues to use these tactics after all the class action lawsuits and insider testimony that is public.

Nokia

Bestbuy.com and the store are one and the same. They just use this as a tactic in order to aggravate and frustrate and perpetuate their unlawful practices.  It is funny they even pay you and all the other super user trolls to deflect or divert attention away from being upset at them.  A week later, after having given up, you are finally contacted by a real CCR that “understands your frustration” and apologizes because it is “clear that you haven't been met with the high level of service that you expect of us.”  If best buy was really interested in helping the consumer they would actually pay you and other customer service reps to help instead of distract and deny.

A company like this could not be this incompetent if they tried. Just spend some time on the google box. Try using key words such as “best buy lawsuit,” “best buy bait and switch,” best buy price match” or many others. Or just read any of the reputable online review sites.

They will eventually be there own undoing. It is just sad that they will take advantage of so many in the meantime.

Re: False Advertising-Bait and Switch-Fraud

No, they are not. Dotcom and BB Retail use different systems. Only recently have you been able to exchange dotcom orders in-store. There are still many compatibilities between them.

As stated in my profile, I am not affiliated in any way, shape, or form with BB.

Re: False Advertising-Bait and Switch-Fraud

"Choose Store Pickup" means only to choose to pick it up at a store where it is currently in stock, from that store's inventory. You still have to select the store to see if the inventory is available. "Choose Store Pickup" is NOT the same as "Ship site-to-store".

This is no different from any other retailer's website, such as WalMart, Home Depot, or Lowe's, which all have options for picking up directly from store inventory, but can only tell you if a particular product is in stock at that store after you select a store. Some items are available in-store, some are available to ship to the store, and some are only available to ship to the customer. Just because an item is no longer in stock in one particular store does not mean that Best Buy has breached or violated any laws.

Re: False Advertising-Bait and Switch-Fraud

These two items were in stock locally and were in the local warehouse to be shipped to me when this all began. I could have had them shipped to me direct for an addditional cost but It would not allow me to ship them to store and pick them up? It only ended up being out of stock after I spent hours dealing iwth customer service.

It is probably a good thing I tried dealing with customer service before I purchased them and had them shipped to my house direct. If that were the case I would now be stuck and held hostage by Best Buy with 2 back ordered items that I would probably never recieve. I would be stuck in limbo like 1000's of others that have their credit card charged $1400+ dollars, no way to know if or when I might get my product, no way to cancel, and $1400 of my money being used by best buy.

Still seems pretty strange to me that all these valued contributors don't work at best buy but understand and can explain their policy and are just here to help.
