Black tie program is a rip off

2 times now I have bought cell phones from Best Buy and got the protection plan and was told it would cover everything

and both times when I had a problem with something I was told the Plan would cover Best Buy would not cover it

Both times I have talked to Managers that say their people would not tell a customer something that is not true But Im here to tell you they do they lie right to your face with a smile.I have read a lot of the messages on this message board and Im not the only one that has had this problem when is Best buy going to do something or is Best buy telling their employees to lie to their customers I was told when I  first started working as a teenager that if you make a customer happy  they will tell their friends If you make a customer unhappy they will tell the world and maybe you don't read you message board but there is a lot of unhappy customers what are you going to do about it.I will never deal with Best Buy again and I will warn everyone I can about how you treat your customers  I have talked to Managers sales people and the complaint dept and no one even tries to act like they give a dam about their customer Best Buy used to have great customer service everyone in the store was helpful and if you asked a question you got a straight answer not a lie In both cases I asked if your protection plan would cover everything and both times the sales person said yes.I have been a customer for along time we bought our first computer from best buy and we were so happy with the help we received and now you can sure see what greed has done to this company I wonder how long people are going to put up with being ripped off????????/

Read your contracts and all your problems will be solved! Any exclusion to the plan is clearly stated in the contract for the protection plan that you are required to electronically agree upon purchase that you have received and understand it.

Re: Black tie program is a rip off

Hello User142805,

Thank you for posting.

I apologize if at any time the benefits of the plan were miscommunicated and I would like to follow up with our local team to make sure that everyone is on the same page about what the plan does and does not cover.  If you would like to send me a private message with the store location you visit and any receipt information you might have, that would help a lot.

We post the full terms and conditions of our Black Tie Protection plan online at GeekSquad.com and provide brochures with bullet points to make the benefits clear. While our goal is to offer you a plan that has value and gives you piece of mind, it does not “cover everything.” Please visit the link below for complete details about coverage and let me know if you have any other questions or thoughts.

Re: Black tie program is a rip off

They give you 30 days "to read all that fine print". Within 30 days of purchase on an unused plan, you can get a full refund. So you don't have to read it instore unless you want to
