I placed an online order for Seagate-FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 3TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Hard Drive, on Bestbuy.com yesterday when I found its available for store pick up, I order it and get the confirmation e-mail that confirming store inventory and ready for pick up, on 11/25/2011. The next morning I received an e-mail that showing my item is not available for pickup. The email stated, "If you still want this product, call us toll-free at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) to check product availability at a different store or warehouse, or to have the item shipped via free standard shipping."
Calling the number and finally getting through after 2 hours, the customer service rep said that this has been happening alot. They told me its not available in any store near me and THAT IT COULD NOT BE SHIPPED, so your order automatically cancel after 8 days. I don't want to cancel it.
For customer satisfaction and continue business with customer, Best Buy should ship me the item as a back order or they offer a comparable item for same price. My order confirmation and subsequent emails I received constitutes a contract: I have provided the funds at the advertised price and BestBuy needs to fulfill its half of the contract. Corporate BestBuy needs to provide restitution for the Local Stores' selling items when it has been sold online!!!

r3con your posting most likely will be split into a seperate topic in order to facilitate the request for help from a Community Connector, in the future, if you are having a customer service issue, you should create a seperate thread for your issue so your posting can quickly be recognized and put in the queue for help.

The same with me, takes 40 minutes on line with customer support. Got nothing recomended to cancel order.
I can see my order item in another store for full price $219. It is very bad practice.
Best Buy must complete orer once it is processed.

Plus a lot of other problems with my order (getting ready to call and tell them to cancel the whole #^$% thing as it's not worth the hassle).
There's no excuse for the company to be this unprepared and unorganized for such an important sale on one of the biggest shopping days of the year. ![]()

Hi Unhappy1234,
I am very sorry to hear about your experience trying to get the hard drive that you ordered last week. I know that I would be frustrated if I received emails stating it was ready to pick up, but later told that there was no way to pick it up or ship it.
I did have a chance to look over your order and it appears that the store is currently out of stock on these hard drives. Unfortunately, I don’t have any knowledge as to when we would be getting more in. I am unable to find whether or not the store had them in stock when the order was placed and the confirmation email was sent to you in error. According to the order log, it doesn’t show that the hard drive was picked and set aside on the 25th. Also according to your order, they tried to fulfill it at different stores and no store was able to obtain it. I am sorry for this inconvenience, however unfortunately we would not be able to get the hard drive to you.

I had the same experiance 3 days ago. I ordered it , got the confirmation email for redy for pick up, Went to pick up my items with the copy of pick up confirmation email , but the item was already gone. The items was in sale for $9.99 (regular $39.99). I called 800 number. They said only alternative was cancel the order. It was really bad experiance. I had to drive 1 hour to get the items nearest store. I lost my time , gas, miles all. They cancel my order at the end. I end of paying more for another item again.

As of 10:15 am PST they are shown in stock at 5 Best Buy Stores within driving distance from me. WHY can't I pick one up????
