Hello,

No one has corrected the online return policy (Friend and Family Return).

Online order will only be refunded to original purchaser's card and not in the form of in store credit like it says on your online returns policy.

Just a warning to all:

Gift Receipts from Online Purchases serve no purpose:

You cannot use gift receipts from online purchases to do an exchange in-store.

You cannot return items using Gift Receipts for in-store credit (even though it says on the BestBuy online returns policy)

There seem to be a few different versions of the online return policy out there that give different answers to your question about exchanging online orders in our stores, whether with a gift receipt, regular receipt, or with Friends & Family options.  I wanted to let you know I am engaging some of our business partners in clarifying this, and I will let you know as soon as I have a concrete answer.

I probably can answer this for you seeing it happened to me. I did a return for a like item and an exchange for a different one. I was not the original cardholder and yes it was a gift receipt. I am guessing it is up to the store manager or cs rep; were you just as friendly as your typed responses if so I can see why you got now where. I am not judging I am just saying people who are mean and rude to the CSRs don't get anywhere and when a policy comes along that helps THEY ENFORCE IT...

I don't think you understand the issue:

This is a system flaw that doing an exchange with an online gift receipt will return to the original purchaser's credit card.

This has been tested multiple times.

Thank you for your suggestion regarding CSRs. Sadly it's about being polite and not about solving real issues.
