Re: Best Buy's contract with UPS bad for customers and customer service

UPS tracking shows that they delivered the item i bought from BB (Gateway Netbook LT 2005U which is suppose to be a gift for my mom for Christmas) at 537p on my front door yesterday 12/4/09 but there is NONE.  I searched everywhere playing stupid that I may have missed the big UPS truck while I was outside enjoying the snow between the time they claimed it was delivered (which does not happen that much here in Tx) I called UPS and they want BB to call them to start the investigation which is ridiculous. I also have spoken with BB customer rep who sounds helpful and I'm expecting that they will address this matter the soonest possible time. This is a very bad experience and I've read almost the same complaint as I have here. Customer satisfaction isvery important--- consumer trust to both BB and UPS. What's going on?  It's hard to earn the money this days and losing it because of negligence is not acceptable.

Re: Best Buy's contract with UPS bad for customers and customer service

I handled an issue just like this earlier for a client's camera they ordered for shipment with an OMS Lite order. UPS has 8 business days to "investigate" their late/lost claims. Once the issue has been checked, they will contact the shipper (which would be our warehouse in your case). You would most likely be contacted after that by a BB.com Research Agent. I've never heard UPS demanding that only we file a claim for you. If that in fact is the case, a CC should be able to help you out with this on Monday.

Re: Best Buy's contract with UPS bad for customers and customer service

The BB customer rep that I have spoken at 530pm said that she dispatched the info to a certain Sandra(?) at 545pm. She was e-mailing her during our conversation but unable to get a reply so she re-send the message so that BB as shipper to call UPS (UPS customer rep gave me a number 1-866-278-8301) so they can start the investigation. I also received an e-mail from UPS from my inquiry (see below)

Dear ......,

Thank you for your e-mail. I have checked the status of your shipment in our tracking system. Our records indicate that your shipment was delivered on 12/04/09 at 5:37 PM to the following address:

Our Address.....

PEARLAND TX

Your shipment was released at the following location:

FRONT DOOR

I am sorry you have not been able to locate your shipment. Please check the general area and ask any other occupants if they received your shipment. If you are still unable to locate the missing items, we strongly suggest that you contact your shipper to initiate a package investigation. Shippers are encouraged to report lost packages because receivers may not have all the shipment information needed to perform a thorough investigation. In addition, claim notification letters are not sent to receivers. All claims are settled with the shipper.

However, if you prefer to initiate the investigation yourself online, you need to be a registered ups.com user. If you have not registered with ups.com, simply select the Register link in the right column once you are prompted to log-in.

To report a missing or lost package, please visit the following link:

Re: Best Buy's contract with UPS bad for customers and customer service

Ill never understand why people order expensive items and have ups just leave them at front door. If I buy something like that I pick it up in store. Having a laptop sit outside is just asking for trouble.
