I'm disappointed in how the shipping policy has changed recently. When I ordered in the past with free shipping, it would take 7-10 days to receive my order, even when I ordered with free shipping. But, it seems that the shipping policy has changed where it now takes almost two weeks in order to receive something ordered. It used to be easy and relatively pain-free to order from the Best Buy.com site but this is very disheartening. It's not the ordering process I'm talking about, it's the actual shipping dates that you're given during the ordering process.
Then, if you decide you want your order earlier, like you want your order in a week, instead of two weeks, the ordering process applies a $4.95 fee to each item, not to a single order.
I discovered this problem when I tried placing an order for two Blu-ray movies. First, there's no reason why it should take two weeks to receive an order, even with free shipping. Second, Why a $4.95 fee to each item? I ended up not completing that order and instead, placed my order through Amazon. Free shipping and I get my order in 5-6 days. I think that there's either a glitch or that it needs to be overhauled.
I'll still visit the local Best Buy store but when it comes to ordering through the website, I prefer the ordering process to be easy and as convenient as possible. There's just no convenience with the shipping schedule.

Recent for me means the same thing, the last few months. My purpose in this isn't to vent off but rather that Best Buy needs to update it's shipping policy because this is going to be a turn off to current and future customers. When someone is faced with ordering from Best Buy (with free shippiing) and not getting their order for two weeks compared to ordering from Amazon or Walmart and getting their order in a week ... I think that this is major problem for Best Buy.
It just sounds to me that Best Buy is trying to recoup its profits in shipping charges. Applying a $5 charge for each item you order is a bit excessive. If you're charging $5 for each item in an order then Best Buy should be sending that order so it's delivered the very next day.
I just think it's disappointing that even with free shipping that it takes Best Buy two weeks to deliver an order. Almost like ordering from Overstock and Barnes and Nobole who takes forever in shipping your order out.

I just bought a small item with free shipping and got it in 1 week. It did take a weird travel course, but I got it and had shipping tracking.

Hi kemcha,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the concerns you had when it came to the shipping process. I am sorry to hear that orders have been taking longer than expected when you have requested them. I know that I would be frustrated if it was taking two week to get an item shipped!
Generally speaking, items that are shipping with a standard method should take about 4 -8 business days. This can vary depending on the date of ordering and where you live, however I am sorry if you have been receiving them later than estimated. I also apologize that he express shipping options are not provided per order. A lot of information include the estimated time of arrivals can be found in more detail at http://bbyurl.us/Shipping.
Again, I am sorry for this issue and if you have any questions, please let me know.
Regards,

Sean, I was right. I would be willing to order from the Best Buy website but as long as it takes two weeks to receive an order, it's just not worth using the Best Buy website to order anything. If I placed my order today, Best Buy.com states that I wouldn't receive my order until the end of next week. This is why I've always used Amazon as my main source of ordering movies and whatnot because they take between 5-7 days.
I hope you're able to send this up the line because while some may be willing to wait for two weeks, it just doesn't make the online ordering process simpler. I prefer to get my order promptly ... even with free shipping, it shouldn't take longer than a week at the most.
When I compared the ordering process between Best Buy and Amazon, I get the same experience but I get it my order a week earlier from Amazon than I do from Best Buy.com's stated shipping process. I think I've spent a lot of money ordering from Amazon because their customer service is one of the best for online shopping and that they're fast on their shipping, even with the free shipping.
I've spent a lot of money in Best Buy over the years, as well, but I just have a preference that my online shopping experience be as simply as possible. I hope you can understand that. If the item I want isn't currently in-stock at your local Best Buy where I live, then I simply do not order it through the website.

No response.
At any rate, when Best Buy improves its shipping times (or rather, when it improves the time it takes to package an order for shipment), I'll probably go back to ordering from Best Buy.com But, personally, I'd rather Best Buy get rid of free shipping because at least we were getting our orders within a week, instead of free shipping and two weeks.
