To who can help me:
I placed an order with bestbuy.com on 6/26/09 for this item: GPS-NUVI265WT SKU: 9267287.
Everything seemed fine on this date with the order because it said that the order status was: "In process". So okay, no big worries. It would take 1-2 days to process. No problem. I expect that. Well today (6/27/09) I looked on the detailed order page when you click on the link & now it says that the item status is on backorder. Could I get someone to confirm what is going on with this order and when there is a possibility of receiving this item? I am really excited to receive this GPS and hope to use it for an upcoming trip for July 4th if possible. Thanks in advance and any help is appreciated.

There is no way the BB.com Support team or anyone else will have an ETA on a back ordered item. As far as I understand it (and from my personal experience with a back ordered CD I purchased from BB.com), BB will e-mail or call you once the item becomes available for shipment. If this doesn't happen in 90 days, you will be contacted and given the option to cancel the order or replace it. You could cancel it now since it hasn't shipped from the warehouse since it's not available, too.

Here's some additional info about Backorders. As this is an outlet item, it could just be a delay in obtaining it from the vendor for shipment. The emails you get are going to have the most updated information, and there's not a lot more that we can see from a systems perspective here, but if you'd like, feel free to send me a private message with your order number, and I'll see if anything more can be done. I too have used bb.com to place an order for the Garmin 265WT, after my order was placed, the next day I received an e-mail stating that the 265WT is backordered. The interesting things I know so far -
1- When I call they do not know when it will be in stock
2- My 265WT is still on backorder (received an e-mail today)
3- I bought it on sale for $219 (now that is its regular price on the web)
4- And the most frustrating thing is....bb.com still says it is in stock, they have not changed the status to backordered, check the site, I was going to give you the URL but the form does not allow it.
Why doesn't BB change the status. Is this legal? Clearly they know the item is not in stock
Doesn’t BB.COM realize how frustrating this can be when you order something like a GPS in advance of a business trip only to see it go on an indefinite backorder where no one know when it will still be in stock.
Oh if I only read this thread before I placed my order. In the past when the items I ordered get backordered the eventually get cancelled by bb.com as a discontinued item.
To summarize, how can bb.com get away with not changing the status to “backordered” for an item they know is not in stock.

I just ended up cancelling my order and buying the exact model from elsewhere. Hopefully your issue can be resolved.

Well bb.com now admits the Garmin nuvi 265WT (NEW) is out of stock.... I wonder what that means for my order....anyone care to guess?

BB.com states the Garmin 265WT (NEW) is back in stock and will ship 1-2 days. However my order remains on backorder?
When I ordered the 265WT it was in stock and "onsale" for $219 so I could not use my 10% coupon on sale items - but now $219 is its regular price.
This company continues to confuse and frustrate me.
