Pertaining to the thread linked above, I also received a gift card that Best Buy is saying was not activated. This was a gift from someone who is on a limited income, so I don't want to embarass her or make her think she has to replace it or put any additional money into it. I also want to make sure that, if the card is not valid, that she was not charged for something she did not receive. Is there a way for BB to check the card number to see if it was properly purchased? If so, I would like to either get this card properly activated or replaced with a valid card.

It sounds like the gift card was a generous gift from the giver, especially if they are on a limited income. I am sorry to read that the gift card was not activated when you received it however. I would have been disappointed as well, if I had been in a similar situation.
