Worst customer service of my life

I will never shop at Best Buy again. I just had the worst costumer service experience of my life. I found a pair of Bose earbuds on Groupon for $59.99 and saw them on Best Buy for $99.99. Knowing they do price match (but also knowing Groupon is a discount site) I decided to call Best Buy and ask if they would price match it, so that I could pick it up from the store near my house and have them the same day. TWO people said that they would, and that I just needed to order it online and call them back with my order number. So I called them back once I ordered it, only to be told that they could not price match with Groupon. I figured maybe they would do it just this one time since two of their employees said they could do it. She rep said they couldn't so I asked to speak to a manager. After waiting on the phone for 35 MINUTES I gave up. I called again a half hour later (I have no idea why I did this.. too much time on my hands I guess) and the rep Mary was very nice and put me straight through to the manager, who told me that since the original rep didn't write down that they would price match to Groupon (why would they ever write it down anyway..?) they would not be able to honor it. I told the manager that this seems crazy that they will lose a lifetime customer over the fact that one of THEIR employees failed to follow protocol and write down my request, and they didn't care. I told them I would settle for a coupon code (that wouldn't even bring the price down to what Groupon had) and they refused. Anyway, never shopping at Best Buy again!

I have taken advantage of many Price Match policies within my shopping experience and have found this to be one of the best ways to ensure you are always getting the best price on your purchases. It’s certainly discouraging to hear that two of our employees may have told you we price match Groupon and also failed to assist you with your order. We should be able to match the price during the order process and not direct you to call back later, or at least provide you with a case number for your call. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Again, I am sorry for any miscommunication that may have taken place but because this is clearly outlined within our Price Match policy, we will be unable to honor the price of $59.99. Your business is greatly appreciated and I hope that someday soon you will allow us the opportunity to provide you with a better experience.
