I participated in the Oculus experience on Saturday. When the experience was complete, the very nice Best Buy employee showed me an online bundle price that I was not able to see on my phone for that particular store. I went home to consider this major purchase. After looking on BestBuy.com on Sunday moring and seeing the Oculus Bundle was on sale for $999, I decided to return and purchase it. When I got to the store I saw the same employee and she was pleased that I returned to make the purchase. I showed her the sale price on my phone and she tried to look it up. The bundle was $1200 in her computer. She said that "their store" bundle was different and she would try to get the Manager to match the price. She came back and said no (The Manager did not even bother to talk to me personally). She said that "It is only $200 so you should buy it anyway". I drove a substantial distance to be told I could not buy the product for the sale price. Given the confusion with the online price and the store price, I think that the store should have honored the price on the bundle that they had. Just like she said, "it is only $200".

That is a great thought, but the bundle that is online is not available anywhere. It is not my responsibility to determine which store has which bundle. If they put a bundle out there, it should be available to purchase and if the store has a bundle, it should be the same price.. I hate to use the term "bait and switch", but that is what it is. While I did not name the store in the previous post, it is the Glen Allen VA store.

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. The Oculus is an awesome piece of technology, and I can see why you are interested in it. I’m sure it was disappointing that you weren’t able to pick it up at the price you were looking to pay for it.
As jxs2noted above, our Price Match Guarantee excludes matching any bundle offers. Based on your post I believe that you may be referencing this bundle. I was able to check stock on this, and neither the bundle nor the computer itself are available at your local store. It is possible that they have a bundle available with a different computer, but that would also be something we could not price match.

If the bundle that I was offered in the store is different than the one you pointed out, please point me to the more expensive bundle online. Bottom line, there appears to only be one bundle (I can find no others on Bestbuy.com). If you have other bundles, you need to make them visible. Otherwise, I maintain that there is only one bundle, I was offered one bundle, and the price should be the same.
