Store Manager did not honor price posted!!

Terrible customer service at Best Buy in Porter Ranch, Ca. I visited the store on 09/16/2017 to purchase a XBox One, this transaction went smoothhly. While I was there I noticed some XBox Gear headphones. The headphones were hanging on a peg that stated $24.99. I went to ask about the purchase price I was told that the headphones are $75.00. I told them associate that they are hangng on the $24.99 peg and if tghey would honor the $24.99 price. I was told no. I asked to speak to a manager. I was approached by a man named Leo {removed per forum guidelines}, who stated that he was the store manager; even though his tag said Assistant Manager. I told him the situation and he told me that it was against the law for him to give me the headphones at the lower price. I told him that I was a manger at a retail store and that I never heard of such a law. I stated all I wanted was for him to honor the stated price. Leo insinuated that I could have moved them there or another customer could of moved them there. I stated that we were the second customer in through the door and that his employees placed them on the wrong peg. He continued to get rude and disrespectful. I even showed him another area where the headphones were place that had a sticker price of $33.00. I told him that even thougg he was rude I would pay the $33.00. He told me no. I told him that customer service should be his first priority and asked to speak to his superior. Leo stated that he is the store manager even though his name tage said assistant manager. I asked who could I speak to above him and he said no one. I have been shopping at Best Buy for years and this visit was a disappointing one, the worst customer service I have ever faced. What can be done to rectify the visit experience. I am tempted to blast the store and its manager on Yelp and other social media outlets.

Welcome to our Community. I too have encountered situations where the price on the shelf disagreed with the one at the register. It's happened at one time or another at most of the retailers I frequent in fact. I was discouraged to hear that you encountered this during your visit to our Porter Ranch location and I regret any inconvenience to you.

 

Each of our products has a corresponding shelf tag and as long as the tag agreed with the product stocked there, our store may have been able to honor the price. However, if the shelf tag was for a different item, then the price posted would not be available. Leo should have been able to explain this in a respectful manner. I apologize for your having to cope with any unprofessional behavior on his part.

 

I will ensure your remarks are made available to our corporate teams. Best Buy cannot improve meaningfully without the feedback of our valued customers. Please know I'm grateful you wrote to us.
