Sales person sold me the wrong TV plus now it's even worse

I bought a tv based on salesperson recommendation. I specifically wanted an output for headphones. That didn't happen Geek Squad came out and tried. They couldn't make it happen. TV never connected to the cable box right I had to use a different hdmi slot, now the fiber audio connection won't work. I have complained to the manager and the suggestion was to spend more money. There is no accountability. I have a warranty but I want I originally wanted headphone connection and sound bar. How does one make this happen particularly since I was sold the wrong thing. Thanks

Does the TV you purchased have the slot for the headphones and it's not working or is there no slot at all?

Problems with Purchase of TV and Sound Bar, I was given wrong information by the person who sold it

Hi,

 

I bought a TV and Sound Bar back in December.  I bought the warranty also.  It is a Samsung TV and soundbar.  I wanted specifically the capabiity to use wired headphones and I was sold a simpe 3 mm cable to plug into the TV.  there was 3mm port.  Then I was sold a Fibert to 3mm plug, that didn't work.  Geek squad came out and told me nothing would work and I give them credit they thought of everything.  so I have no earphone cability except Blutooth and I don't want to buy more plus you can only run one blutooth headset at a time.  Two people cannot watch.  Your people just want me to buy more and frankly none of it has worked.  So yesterday I turned on the TV and now with the fiber cable attached it simply mutes.  No matter what ai have done.  Went to the store and the sound bar was not the problem.  Came back home and sure enough directly from TV to sound bar get the same thing mute.  I updated the program from Samsung for the TV. Still the same issue. 

 

I want a TV like I bought, I want to be able to use headphones as I was promised, and now I can't even use the sound bar.  Also when I first connected the TV, I could not use the cable box HDMI I had to use another port.  The problem is that I don't believe that I can get a manager to get this right.  My previous interactions have gotten nothing done but asked to spend more money or it works at your store and not at home and now we know why the TV.  

 

I would like a solution that doesn't involve me wasting more time effort and money.  A manager that actually gives a darn and pays attention.  The reason I say that I have been down there and the send me to the department specialist and I am tired of this.  Where do I go who do I see without Bestbuy pain and suffering.  The order in under my name at the Southlands store in Aurora Colorado, I have a warranty on both items.  And more parts that don't work for the earphone part.  Plesae. Enough can someone actually do something to help me.

You know, I spend a great deal of time in research and product testing before I make a make a major purchase, just as I'm sure you did with yours, and I have been disappointed too when even after all that the product didn't meet my needs or expect ations. I was quite discouraged to read of your experience and I regret any inconvenience or disappointment you've endured.

 

Best Buy's Return & Exchange Promise allows for the return or exchange of most products within 15 days of purchase (30 days for My Best Buy Elite members and 45 days for Elite Plus members). Outside those time frames Best Buy cannot offer a return or exchange.

 

That being said, I will do my best to help. To begin, I will be getting in touch with the leaders at our Southeast Aurora location for additional details about your situation. I hope to have more information for you soon.

I did buy the warranty for both items. But I respectfully disagree on researching everything. I rely on professional that work in your store to guide me within the desired parameters. I know computers and what is needed more than TVs. I relied on the staff and I told them the criteria. I personally don't know TVs well enough to know the details of each model. For me it was extremely overwhelming. Again building or shopping a computer is in my skill set. So please understand my lack of knowledge. Thank you for your effort and time. If there was a goal a tv with the same visual experience and working with a sound bar and two headphones. Anything you can do to reach that goal is appreciated. My thought was the extended warranty it asking for a different tv because of the sales information issue. Thank you again. Steve

Thank you for your messages. I apologize for the apparent tardiness of this reply.

 

I heard from the Geek Squad manager at our Southeast Aurora store and he has informed me that the TV you purchased should be capable of output to headphones, but the soundbar does not have this feature. 

 

With that said, I have renewed my request that you be contacted regarding this issue. You should hopefully hear from a representative soon.
