Hello David Alexander,
Welcome to the Best Buy Support Online Forum Community!
Discovering a purchase a rogue purchase is a little concerning. I apologize for any alarm that discovery may have caused you.
There could be many reasons why this may have happened. I’d be unable to articulate a specific reason as I wasn’t able to locate your My Best Buy Rewards account using the information you provided upon registering for our community. However, I’d be happy to talk about this in a general sense for you.
If it’s surely another customer’s purchase either that customer could’ve provided the incorrect phone number, and didn’t pay much attention when verify the membership details on the pin pad. Or the agent assisting the customer during check-out could’ve also fat fingered phone number. I’ve also encountered instances where relatives may have decided to “give” friends or family members points for their purchase, but forgot to tell inform them.
By chance are you seeing a purchase that was made at Best Buy 1343? If you are, this may be the “paper trail” for a recent Best Buy gift card you may have received via trade-in, or a promotion. I’d be happy to take a further look into this matter for you. Can you please send me your name, email, phone number, and rogue purchase to me via a private message? You can do so by choosing the option next to my name.
