Misled terribly

I purchased an expensive tv a week ago.  I have been away or I would have posted this right away.

 

I was told by the person that sold me the tv that I would have ten days to have my old tv picked up for $15.95.  Upon my return I called to have it picked up and found out via the Geek Squad that it would be $99.  The original price is only if they delivered and picked up at same time.

 

The person that sold me the tv helped me load it into my van.  He knew that I was choosing not to have it delivered, so when my wife and I left the store we understood we would have the ten days as mentioned above.  This was going to work for us as we were away for a few days.

 

I finally got in touch with the manager of the Hoover, AL store (Amy) and she said she could do nothing ... "company policy.  I told her that if we knew that we would have had the tv delivered.  I explained that we would be away and waiting for it would not have been a problem, but that is not what the salesman said.

 

I am very discouraged that a company of this size does not have the ability to make amends.  Best Buy and Amy have made it very difficult for me to step back in their store(s).

It sounds like there was some miscommunication about the haul away program. As noted here, the lower $14.99 price only applies when the television is delivered. We do offer in-store recycling at some of our locations, as well, however. I’d like to take a look into this to see if that is an option here.

Please send along your name, phone number, email address, and the customer service PIN from your purchase receipt. If you could also let us know about the television you’re looking to recycle, that would be helpful. Please let us know the rough dimensions and the kind of display it is.

I have already got rid of the tv but no one, including the manager of the store, gave me a personal response ... strictly business. I was told one thing by a salesperson and it turned out not to be true or upheld. My wife and I were disturbed by it. I will try not to use BestBuy in the future.
