I received a Fitbit Flex as a gift from a birthday party and have not opened the box as of yet. It was the wrong color and I wanted to exchange it for the Lime green one. I was told going into Best Buy I have to have a receipt for an exchange when I have the item uopened. I asked the person that bought it if they have the receipt and they do not they paid cash for it and got rid of it after giving the gift.
Please help as I havent opened the box and want the Lime Green one and I dont think its fair that I should need a receipt to exchange and item for a different color that is unopened. I could understand if I wanted to return it for refund or store credit needing a reciept but not for a change in color.
Please advise me what can be done. I have called Fitbit and they said to work with Best Buy as that is where it was purchased.

The FitBit Flex is a pretty sweet fitness bracelet and I can understand why you would want to sport the color of your choice.
Neihn was correct when he said that if you could ask who gave it to you, what day, approximate time and what store they had purchased it at, the store could try and locate the receipt for you that way. It is much harder to locate that way so if the purchaser attached their My Best Buy loyalty account to the purchase the store should be able to locate a receipt that way.
Otherwise if that doesn’t turn up any results for you, FitBit has the lime green wristband for sale on their website here.
