Current PayPal Refunds

Greetings Everyone-

 

We know how important it is to receive your refunds in a timely manner and Best Buy certainly strives to hit the goal of processing those refunds as quickly as we can, so you have your PayPal funds back and ready to be used again.

 

Currently, we have been made aware of a backlog within our PayPal refund processing that is delaying the normal time frame for those refunds.  At this time, we aren’t able to provide a firm time frame for the processing of those refunds, but our support teams are working as quickly as they can to get them completed and back into your accounts. 

 

We realize that this isn’t ideal and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you. 

 

Thank you for your patience while we work to process your PayPal refunds.

Missing PayPal Refund since 10/1/18

I returned an item purchased 9/30/18 (it was purchased online, picked up in store) on 10/1/18. It was the Apple Series 4 watch in the amount of $430.32. I paid using my PayPal account. I have a receipt from Best Buy stating that I would receive a refund from Best Buy to my PayPal account. 11 days later and this still hasn't happened. I contacted Best Buy customer service 5 days ago and they said that the refund had processed on their end on 10/1/18 and "PayPal should have it" even though PayPal has no record of it and I never received an email from PayPal that Best Buy credited my account. I then contacted PayPal who, again, had no record of the credit, even using a "tracking number" Best Buy gave me and now PayPal had to enter a dispute on my behalf for the refund which Best Buy still has yet to respond to.

 

I have never had a merchant take this long to issue a refund and from the forum, I see this is common and poor customer service. Please respond with how this can be resolved ASAP. Thank you.

Hello Tigersuz22 Welcome to the Bestbuy forums

In all honesty Paypal is the worst when processing refunds normally when shopping in stores I've seen many issues with paypal holding funds on the back end. Once Best Buy performs a return a refund is then processed ASAP on Best Buys end. Paypal more then likely still has your funds on the back end and have not cleared it into your paypal account.

Either way good luck on having Paypal process your refund hopefully it does not take a long process as normal.

Here's a stickied message from the top of the forums.  There's a bit of a backlog on Best Buy's side right now, and honestly it still takes Paypal some time to process the returns from store purchases like poprex911 said.
