Hi, my laptop's glass screen is cracked and the outside laptop is a little bent from where it got smashed. When i try to browse through the web, sometimes it gets a little glitchy. It is a Toshiba laptop PC and I don't have my old receipt, I threw it away and realizing it, I should've kept it. My brother got this for me about a year ago. What can I do to fix my laptop screen and how much would it cost? Thanxx

Thanks for joining the Best Buy Community forums. I apologize for my delayed response. It’s taking us longer to get back to folks than we’d like because it has a bit busier than normal lately. I know how annoying it can be to have a non-working touch screen.
Even if the computer is still covered by Toshiba’s warranty, they generally do not cover a cracked screen. Unless your brother purchased a protection plan on the laptop, this is a repair you would have to pay for. If he contacts us we may be able to get a copy of the receipt for him to check and see if there is a plan on the computer.
If not, your best bet is to make a reservation at your local Best Buy to bring the computer in to get looked at. You can either call your local store or head over to this web page to make that reservation. You would be looking at $35 to ship the computer out and get an estimate on the repair. A broken touch screen can run several hundred dollars in some cases, and if your bent casing needs to be replaced that can add to the cost. It may end up being more cost effective to replace the computer than repair it, and once the Agents in your store see it they can give you some better advice.
Before you bring the computer in, I suggest backing up all important data you have on to an external hard drive or flash drive. I hope that answers your questions, and if there’s anything else I can help you with please let me know.
