We purchased our Maytag refrigerator from the Bloomingdale, IL Best Buy on March 30, 2015. I've always purchased my electronics and appliances from Best Buy because of the quality of their product offerings and the no haggle warranty. Needless to say, when I purchased the Maytag Model MFI226DRM refrigerator, I purchased the 5 year WSC5 protection plan offered to me from Pacific Sales.
Since purchasing this refrigerator in March of 2015, it has had 4 service calls for the same issue. No ice. No water. I have had icemakers replaced. System boards, switched replaced and switches replaced with extended levers. Service provider Diamond Factory Service who was sent out for the most recent service call from the service provider sent by warrentec (best buys service provider) refused to work on our refrigerator.
We have come to the conclusion that BestBuy’s extended warranties are not good as they will not honor the agreement. I have purchased plenty of electronics and appliances from BestBuy because of their service agreements. I will never purchase any items from BestBuy again and I would encourage anyone else to do the same.

As you may know, Pacific Sales is a store within Best Buy that sells high-end products like your Maytag refrigerator. Because this appliance wasn’t purchased through Best Buy, we wouldn’t have been able to sell you a Geek Squad Protection plan. Instead, it sounds like a Warrantech plan was purchased to ensure your purchase was covered if it ran into any hardware issues. Because this plan is not facilitated through Best Buy or Geek Squad though, I would suggest calling our Pacific Sales Customer Care team at 1-888-825-2678 if further assistance is needed. I have contacted the States Attorney’s Office regarding this matter. Hopefully with their help this matter can be resolved and I can get my refrigerator that has never worked properly since we owned it replaced.
