Not Happy

  On January 30th I purchased a Tech21 EvoAqua 360.  The product is supposed to be waterproof, however, after less than a month the clasp at the bottom of the protective screen would no longer clasp tightly.  Thankfully I kept the box and noticed on the box that the screen protector has a 1 year warranty.  I finally was able to get back to the store today March 3rd to return the defective product (I actually have a family and work full time) and have it replaced with another screen protector brand that I am more familiar with that I know will function for years rather than weeks.  To my shock and dissappointment Best Buy would not help me with the exchange, even though the product had a 1 year warranty and I bought it from them, I was refused help by 3 different employees.  I had an issue several years ago in which the Best Buy employee I had bought an item from had forgotten to write the servial number down for an extended warranty and was told that they could not help me because the serial number was not written down.  After talking to several people, this was resolved and I decided to give them another chance.  I will not be giving this company another chance, I do not have time to deal with this kind of garbage. When I buy things I expect to last from a company and the product I buy lasts less than a month I expect that company, not some huge company who made the product to take care of me.  I would like to give Best Buy my business, if for no other reason, simply because they are a Minnesota company, but I would NEVER treat any customer of mine in the way I was treated today and it will be a very long time before I enter a Best Buy store and why, because they would not help me get my money back on an obviously defective product that probably cost them $30.  By the way, I do not believe that an enormous company like Best Buy can't get their money back from tech21 for a defective product, it was just more work than you were willing to go to and that's just sad.

I’m truly sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with your Tech21 case. I completely understand the expectations of having a waterproof case the preforms flawlessly.

 

Depending on the product there are scenarios where we can return or exchange things under the manufacturer warranty. In most cases, if it’s outside of our return policy it is something that has to get processed by the manufacturer to take advantage of that warranty. The people at the store were not only not able to "get me taken care of", but were in fact unwilling to "get me taken care of", that was the issue.
