I just puchased a Geek Certified open box ASUS laptop from your ebay store. It is supposed to have a one year manufactuer warranty. However when I attempted to register the laptop with ASUS it was rejected, as it had been previously registered. I guess by the original purchaser. Asus said they would be unable to provide me warranty service. How do I obtain waranty service under these circumstances? Can BestBuy get ASUS to update their registration info? Can I bring the laptop directly to a BestBuy store if service is required? Thanks.

Hello Jaw608 and Welcome to the Best Buy Forums.
Thank you for joining us on the Best Buy forums, I am more then happy to see about assiting your and giving you an answer to your questions. When purchasing a laptop that is Geek Squad Certified it does indeed come with its orginal one year Manufactors warrenty. If you are having some hardware issues I would advice going into your local Best Buy and we should be able to assist you with your MFW with ASUS and possible ship your device our for repair. Before heading into your local store I would advice to make an appointment here.
If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to reach out.

Thanks for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums. Our Geek Squad Certified Open Box program is an awesome way to get like-new products at a great discount. These products are covered for the same period as the manufacturers with a few rare exceptions, as noted in our Best Buy Outlet Guide.
I have some good news in your situation, however. As poprex911 noted, even if you are running into issues getting your manufacturer to repair your computer Geek Squad has you covered. Regrettably we don’t have the ability to update the warranty information on Asus’s end, but we’ll be happy to help you out with hardware issues in one of our stores.
Just head on over to this page to set up a reservation to get your computer looked at. One of our Agents will take a look at the computer and give you your options for service. Many things can be taken care of on site in the store, and if your issue can’t be repaired in store we’ll be happy to ship the computer out to a service center for you. It would be helpful if you could bring your purchase receipt with you, but if you don’t have it we will do our best to look it up for you.
I hope that puts you at ease about your coverage. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
