I recently purchased an Iphone for Verizon through Best Buy. I thought i had to purchase insurance through Verizon when i activated my line, turns out not. They said i had to get insurance from wherever i bought the phone as they do not insure outside phones. Now that I already have the phone, can i add insurance onto my purchase? it's a monthly payment for the phone. If yes, then where can i read about the different insurance options (looking for coverage for theft, accidents, phone issues, etc). Thank you!

Thanks for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums. Having a protection plan on your phone can seriously lower your stress levels, and I apologize if you weren’t offered a plan at the time of your purchase.
Here at Best Buy we offer AppleCare+ to protect iPhones. That will cover you for things like cracked screens and other problems with the phone. At this time we do not offer loss or theft protection on Apple products.
You have a couple of options for getting AppleCare+ added on after the time of purchase. Within the first fourteen days after purchase you can bring the phone in to a Best Buy to purchase a monthly plan that will cover your phone for up to two years.
After fourteen days you can still purchase the protection plan on your phone, either in a Best Buy store or directly through Apple. This offer is available for sixty days from your purchase. In this scenario you would be buying the protection plan outright rather than paying monthly. In order to do this at a Best Buy store you’ll just have to bring your phone along with you and head over to the customer service desk. You can learn more about AppleCare+ coverage at this link.
I hope that clears everything up for you. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
