here is my idea wich i believe will benefit us coustomers and also geek squad to when we would come in to hand in our computers for reapair if it has to get sent away maybe you should think of  letting us either borrow a loaner and ask for a security  fee and when we come back to get our original we give you the loaner and we would get our security fee back

I can't imagine that this idea was never entertained in the past by us, and I would guess that there is some financial or logistical problem preventing us from providing this option to our customers. I would like to hear from other users as to what they think about this idea.

I personally like the idea, and as a customer myself I would like to see this as an option. I think the real question is if this would be logistically or financially a good idea for our business.

The hard part would be keeping enough models on hand as "store-use" to be used as temporary models.  Would have to have a wide variety of models as well as I'm sure some would complain if they were given a base model while their gaming laptop was being serviced.  Would have to wipe the memory and run scans on every model once it was turned back in as well.  Can't leave someone's personal data laying around.

It would be a great option to have, but as Allan said:  it might not be a financially sound option.  Figure a minimum of 10 laptops (and this is ONLY laptops...) at an average of $400 each per store.  $4000 there.  Now, with about 1100+ stores.  10 stores, $40,000.  100 stores, $400,000.  A rough estimate of $4.4 million for just the computers which would need to be serviced and kept in good maintenance.  Would probably have to change out those models every 1-2 years as well.

Now, I don't think it would be a bad idea to test the idea in a couple stores to see how it plays out.

No, No, No, No, No, No, No, and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I worked at a store that did exactly what is suggested here and it was a nightmare for us. It looks good on paper but it's poorly executed, nobody keeps track of anything, and management/staff will abuse the crap out of it for their friends and even steal loaner computers with fake paperwork. I'm speaking from personal experience when I say it isn't a good idea.

it is a good idea; at the place I use to work at we would give loaner phones to customers.
