You should expand the DVD to Blu-ray upgrade promotion!

Hi There

The upgrade promotion was great and I've traded in about 60 or 70 old DVDs for new Blu-rays, spending hundreds of dollars at various NYC locations.

But I could have spent a whole lot more!

You should allow people to trade in DVDs not only for a $5 coupon, but also for a $4 coupon and let us buy Blu-rays priced at $7.99 for $3.99 with the coupon!

Since many Blu-rays are priced $7.99 - I will be first in line to trade in many more DVDs.

I'm confident that we looked at many different price points before putting this promotion out there. I would like to hear from other customers if they would see a value in expanding this promotion, or if they have other ideas on how to expand it. Thanks!

Thank you.

Another idea for expanding this promotion is to make it available online.

For returning a DVD at the store, the client gets a code (coupon) that's good for one use.

The code can then be applied to take off $5 from any online Blu-ray purchase.

There are at lists 30 Blu-rays prices $9.99 that were not kept in stock that I could have bought if this promotion was made available for online purchases.

This program is now stopped and so is my Blu-ray buying spree.  I guess my wife is happy.  I was able to rationalize buying any of your Blu-rays, because with $5 off, your price beat even Amazon.  Why would you stop the trade-in program?  I never saw so many people in the Blu-ray section before you started it.  Maybe you guys have made enough money.  That's very noble of you to let other stores and rental places get my money.  Oh well it was a great program.  I thought it was a win-win.

As someone who bought the majority of their DVD and Blu-Ray collection at Best Buy, I would greatly appreciate bringing back the program. I have many DVDs that I would have traded in for the discount had I known about it sooner, but as the information about the trade in offer was buried in the website, I did not find out about it until it was about to end. As I have two Best Buy stores within 10 miles, it would definitely be incentive to get me into the stores again instead of buying Blu-Ray discs on sale at WalMart and Target, which are within walking distance of my home. When I go into Best Buy, I often come out with six or seven titles at a time because of the sales and I don't get anywhere near that much when I go to Wal-Mart or Target because they have a significantly smaller selection.
