Teaching accessibility features to those with visual disabilities

Status: New
by cholden on ‎03-26-2012 04:55 PM

As the Rehabilitation  Director of a non profit low vision center called NewView Oklahoma in Ohlahoma City  , I would love the opportunity to partner with  Best Buy to provide classes to teach those with visual disabilities about the accessibility features available on  ios and android devices. This is an area where Best Buy can be a leader in serving those with disabilities with little overhead. The need is great and yet there are few who understand the features much less can teach them to someone who has little to no vision. At NewView Oklahoma we serve over 500 people yearly who have such a need. I am hoping that a pilot program can be designed and established in Oklahoma City that can be applied state wide and beyond. If such program already exist, please share!

BB is in the selling buisnes, what would they sell if they go forard w/ your new idea. Dont get me wrong, I am for it, just not sure how BB would profit from it?

Or are you saying that if  you teach them how to use apps, they will buy stuff from BB?

Perhaps they would since they have visual dissability and on-line purchasing is not an option. Although that is something that they are prob. already doing anyway...
