Replacement car remotes at the stereo/mobile electronics area...

The mobile electronics category at the Best Buy in my area already sells/installs car stereos and alarm/keyless entry systems. Since the majority of new cars now include keyless entry, most people nowadays just need replacements for lost/broken remotes. This new product category (replacement car remotes) would be unique in the big box retail sector, and still be a logical extension of the aftermarket alarm systems that are currently sold. Most people have to take a trip to the car dealerships for a replacement. Why not get one while they're at their local Best Buy?

This new product could make entry into this category very do-able and give people an alternate destination if they need a replacement...plus it can even combine two remotes into one!

I truly do like this idea. As the owner of a newer vehicle myself I know that if I ever need a duplicate remote for my car I need to contact Mazda directly with a code, and they will then send me a new remote (most likely at a charge). I can see where it would be very handy to just go up to my local Best Buy to get a replacement. I could also see some challenges in regards to potential security concerns given each remote is programmed to open a specific vehicle. What do other people think about this?
