I didn't have an order that was delayed this Christmas from Best Buy but I think you should use this as a wake-up call to really concentrate on building up your web-site. Since you have both "brick and mortar" stores and a web-site, why not use that to your advantage. People want the convenience of shopping on-line but also being able to go into a store and look over all the product choices, try them out, and talk to knowledgeable people about the features on them. You could then have a comfortable area in the store where people could sit down, go to your web-site and order what they've chosen, and either have it shipped to the store (no shipping charge) or shipped to their home. And, you could offer (maybe you already do) to take back any on-line orders at the store. You could be at the forefront of a new type of retail store that offers the best of both worlds - one-line and in-store.
Employees have the ability to place a BestBuy.com order on your behalf and have it shipped to your home or for store pickup.
