Heet Wall signage

Status: Tell Us More

Since the Heet Wall now has so many holes now due to the fact our tv selection is dropping in every store, I think I came up with a great idea to both fill the holes and to get more info out to the customers.  I have spoke to some Managers and Employees and they think its a great idea. My Heet wall now has over 10 holes on it ,most tvs are 40" to 46" so its a big hole making us look like we are going out of business. Why not have signs ( Finance deals, GSBT- what it covers, mounting and  install deals, Quick facts etc..)  that should be 40" in size and look like a TV and have them HANG in place just like a tv? You could make it kinda look like a TV set with info on the screen, thick cardboard would do the trick and the customers would really see them NOT like the 8x10 signs we use now. I hope this makes since but sometimes I have a hard time trying to get in idea to come to life by sending emails. I think our Finance deals are the key and they need to be out where the customers sees them and I know that would be a huge deal. If you have any questions pls email me, thanks

I have to admit I was surprised to hear your store had empty spaces between different model TVs on this wall, but if these spaces are permanent I think your idea makes complete sense. Even if the spaces were temporarily there until new display models came in I could see it being handy for a store to have different signage that could be put there while waiting. Any other thoughts on this idea?

Would be great as it is sad to see half a wall vacant of TVs during the switch from 2011-3012 tvs

The plano is for at least 11 holes for open item tvs, and being a community store we have space everywhere. We do a great job selling open item and clearance tvs so right now I have 8 open spots. Did the idea make sense? Where do we go from here??

It would have been a good idea for us 3-4 weeks ago, but we've got nearly all of our new TVs in store now.  Just not sure how much good it would do for us to pay for signage for every single store that probably wouldn't get used but for maybe 2-4 weeks out of the year.

All stores will be cutting the number of skus on the heet wall and we lost a ton. All the community stores were cut so much its unreal. We would be using them year round here.

Here's a thought for the unused space on the HEET wall.  Create a Package deal for semi-popular TV with a stand, Surround sound, Blu Ray player (or gaming console) with all the accessories to show customers everything that it takes to get HT done right and what a great experience it can be with a sign listing all the acccessories and the value of our bundles.  I would love to do this in our store, but we need to remove the receiver display in order to free up the floor space.  Most customers will be impressed with the improved sound and will take about 50-70% of the package.

We do this on our endcaps next to cables and such.  Set up a receiver, 5-speaker system, 40-55" TV, and speaker stands with a Rocketfish wireless setup.
